13 Reasons Why is a depressing story, but it had an interesting story line. Hannah Baker moves to a new school, and within a couple of years she commits suicide. She left something behind though; tapes recorded with 13 reasons why she killed herself. These 13 reasons are 13 people that go to her new school, and Clay Jensen is on this list. He receives the tapes and decides to listen to them because he had a crush on Hannah and he wants to respect her wishes. He walks around town listening to the tapes and visiting the places Hannah describes. Over halfway through the tapes, Clay finds out why he on the tapes, but you’re going to have to read it to find out why.

I would recommend this book to anybody, including guys. It was suspenseful because you wanted to find out who was on the tape and why. If you are looking for a comedy or happy story, I would suggest reading something else because this book is depressing and sad. I really enjoyed this book and it took me only a couple of days to read becaue I couldn’t set it down. The author wrote the story really well and I will look for other stories written by Jay Asher.
