begins with a fatal car accident on the Jellicoe Road. Three survive and a stranger shows up to save them from the accident. One more is added to their number, and those five become the main players throughout the story.

Jellicoe Road

About twenty years pass and Taylor Markham is a student at the Jellicoe School. She becomes the leader of her school in the territory wars between the Jellicoe School students, the Townies, and the Cadets, who come in for six weeks from the city. The three cliques fight for territory, with an elaborate set of rules and lots of tradition and history that has been passed through a very special notebook. That history is personal, too, when it comes to the relationship between Taylor and Jonah Griggs, the Cadets’ leader.

The storyline is too complicated for one to truly explain. In fact, I had to read the book all the way through and then go back and reread certain parts in order to understand the story entirely. The story starts off really slow and confusing and I was more than a third of the way through before I got truly interested. Once you get to the “good stuff” however, this book will be really hard to put down. Overall, it was an “okay” read to me. I probably wouldn’t read it again.
