A little girl named Coraline moves into a new flat. She gets bored and does not have any friends so she visits the neighbors. The two women below are former Broadway performers and the gentleman above trains mice. Coraline is not okay with her life. She discovers a door that leads into another flat. Little does she know that door leads not only to another flat, but to another world? The world she enters appears to be all she wants and more. In this other world, she has another mother and father who are seemingly perfect and prepare all of her favorite meals. They only have one minor defect, button eyes. After visiting the other world, Coraline finds that she likes it more than her original world. But when given the option of living in this new world forever, Coraline declines. Why? Because she would have to get buttons sewn into her eyes! There are hidden evils hidden in this new world and Coraline finds herself trapped with only one way to escape. If she does not escape she will have to get those button eyes!

                This sinister

book was not okay. I did not know about the book until the movie came out. I fell in love with the movie and was eager to read the book. Big mistake. I should have known that the book would be a let down. I probably went into it expecting much more than I should have. The movie was just amazing! I had a hard time trying to read the book without stopping. I found myself only being able to read a couple of paragraphs at a time. I figure if I had not been influenced by the movie then I would have been able to enjoy reading the book.
